Tristan is starting to laugh. James is really the only one to get a good laugh out of him. I've gotten one little "hee" out of Tristan and JR just gets the confused look from him. I'm noticing small differences between the way JR developed and the way Tristan is developing. When JR started laughing it was like a switch flipped. Just one day he started cracking up and we could get him to do it several times a day. With Tristan it is hit or miss, sometimes he will do it and sometimes he won't. It was the same way with smiles. JR just started smiling one day and with Tristan it has been slow. Tristan now smiles regularly, but it took a while with the smile only showing up occasionally.
I adjusted Tristans carseat straps up a notch. He is getting so long. At his two month checkup his length was ~90%. I didn't believe it but he's not yet 3 months old and he's at the top slot for his carseat straps. I guess he is long. He is going to be my tall, dark, handsome boy.
Last week it was cold and rainy. JR and I ventured out on Saturday anyway to go see the goats and sheep that the city is "housing" at one of the parks where there is an animal reserve. It wasn't very exciting, we saw the goats, took a picture, and left. Today it was almost 90 degrees and we are in shorts and tanktops. Next week it's supposed to rain again.
Tristan is a sympathy crier. Although I find it endearing to think that he has the capacity to be that sympathetic, it is not fun to have two crying kids. The other night, JR was tired and started crying and Tristan, who was happily nursing, just started wailing. When JR stopped, Tristan stopped. It happened the next day when we were at the park playing with friends and a little boy fell and bumped his head on the cement. Tristan was asleep in the sling but as soon as the boy started crying, so did Tristan. When the boy settled down Tristan just went back to sleep. Tristan also cries when he hears the harmonica. I think he thinks it sounds like someone crying, or JR's harmonica is just really really bad.
I found a matching pajama set that we got when I was pregnant with JR. It is a cute little frog PJ set for mommy and baby. I think the PJs are adorable on Tristan and decided to put mine on the other night. I also found a picture of me and JR in the PJs at the hospital when JR was born.
