My boy and my bear

This is Tristan sleeping with my bear - the bear I've had since I was born. In fact, somewhere there is a picture of my mom pregnant at the baby shower unwrapping this bear from the box.

Tristan came home from daycare telling me he sang "This Old Man" and I told him I used to sing that to him all the time and that I had a bear that played that song. I got the bear out for him and he slept with it that night and then asked for it again the other night. Too sweet.

The Pool is Open

Pool season has officially started. We've been able to get in the pool twice now, although it was still a little on the chilly side. We're looking forward to a long pool season. And hopefully we'll have a deck to go along side the pool before the season is over. Construction on that is underway.

To the new and the old

We went back to my hometown to go to the Makerfaire. There were plenty of cool inventions/sights to see at the fair that included waterfall swings, robot powered rickshaws, programmable LED bike wheels, light up remote control sharks, man/bike powered concerts, Coke and mentos demonstrations, a fire tree, etc. But my favorite part was going back to the city where I grew up. I got to see old neighborhoods, schools I went to, parks where I used to play, and old friends. The best of all was spending the weekend with my best friend from toddlerhood until teenage years and seeing our two families hang out together.

Not sure what this was, but it was cool. ;)

Musical breakfast

Five little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.

Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only three little ducks came back.

One little duck

Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But none of the five little ducks came back.

(Tristan left out this verse which really brings it all together)
Sad mother duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

Easter preparations

We colored our eggs today and we are ready for Easter. Tristan is VERY excited for the Easter bunny to come visit. I'll post Easter pictures later. Happy Easter everyone!

Notice anything missing?

JR lost his front tooth. It's his third tooth that he has lost; he already lost his bottom two. But the missing front top tooth is too cute, I had to take a picture. The tooth fairy came for a visit that night and JR received 3 golden dollar coins. Cha-ching! In comparison, I showed JR my collection of baby teeth (yes, I still have them) and the money I had collected along with the teeth (yes, I guess I still have that too) and I only had 9 quarters and a nickle. I don't think I scored as much money as him for a lost tooth back then
