From Yellow to Pink
Tristan's favorite color has always been yellow, until now. It's hard to tell if his favorite color has really always been yellow, and when I say always I mean since pre-birth, or if I have just projected that onto him. It all started during our hypnobirthing class we were taking when I was pregnant with Tristan (yes, I'm a hippy). One of the relaxation techniques our hypnotherapist used was an imagry of color where the hypnotherapist guides you through all the colors of the rainbow. Well during that exercise yellow really stood out, so I was convinced there was something special about the color yellow. So naturally when Tristan was just a month or two old and mesmorized by these little yellow flowers in our neighborhood (and no other flowers mind you) I was convinced that it was his favorite color. Since then he has seemed to gravitate toward yellow. His first color he even said was yellow and since he could vocalize it he has been saying his favorite color is yellow, until now. He has now declared his favorite color is pink. It feels like a small declaration of independence to me. Although his favorite things to wear are still his yellow lizard shirt and his yellow tie-dye.

Wow, you took a homebirth class? You're like the valedictorian of hippies! My midwife was all: "You'll figure it out when it happens." And I was like, "Sounds good. One less reason to leave the house!"
