Musical breakfast

Five little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.

Four little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only three little ducks came back.

Three little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only two little ducks came back.

Two little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only one little duck came back.

One little duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But none of the five little ducks came back.

(Tristan left out this verse which really brings it all together)
Sad mother duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

Easter preparations

We colored our eggs today and we are ready for Easter. Tristan is VERY excited for the Easter bunny to come visit. I'll post Easter pictures later. Happy Easter everyone!

Notice anything missing?

JR lost his front tooth. It's his third tooth that he has lost; he already lost his bottom two. But the missing front top tooth is too cute, I had to take a picture. The tooth fairy came for a visit that night and JR received 3 golden dollar coins. Cha-ching! In comparison, I showed JR my collection of baby teeth (yes, I still have them) and the money I had collected along with the teeth (yes, I guess I still have that too) and I only had 9 quarters and a nickle. I don't think I scored as much money as him for a lost tooth back then

Fever induced dreams

Tristan had a fever last night before bed so needless to say he didn't sleep that well and came into our room to sleep at about 10pm. He slept ok in our room except he was having dreams all night. At one point he kind of woke up and asked "Mommy, why you moving the coffee table?". In the morning he woke up laughing, but in an odd way. He opened his eyes, kind of sat up, laughed and then laid back down. He did this a few times. I asked him what he was laughing about but he didn't answer and when I finally got any response out of him it was his usual grumpy, still too tired kind of response. I'm glad whatever he was dreaming about was happy.

Conversation of little boys

JR: "Tristan, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
Tristan: "What?"
JR: "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Tristan: "I don't know."
JR: "You can be anything, I want to be a tiger when I grow up."
Tristan: "Oh, I want to be a kangaroo."
JR: "Tigers eat kangaroos. I'm going to eat you when I grow up."
Tristan: "NOOOO, don't eat me!"
JR: "But tigers eat kangaroos and I want to be a tiger and you want to be a kangaroo."
Tristan: "No, don't eat me. I want to be a kangaroo."
JR: "But tigers eat kangaroos."
Tristan: "No, don't eat me"
JR: "OK, I won't eat you."

The Science Project

JR decided to do his science project on planets. So of course we made a model of the solar system.

The painting of the sun.

The planets

Model complete

At the fair.
And to the awards:

JR was a little dissapointed about winning 3rd place (last year he got 2nd place), but that's not what this picture is about, he just doesn't like to smile.

Whistling

J.R. for some reason decided that now was the time he was going to learn how to whistle. He practiced blowing for a couple days until finally sound came out. I started noticing him practicing on Saturday and sometime Sunday we had a whistler. When he was practicing blowing it wasn't bad, but now we hear whistling all . . . day . . . long. On Monday morning I told him that he couldn't whistle in class and he said "I know mom!". And at the end of the day, while he was whistling, I asked him if he whistled in class and he said no. I was really surprised.
